This is an original hand printed lino/block print. It is an open edition print i.e. this is not a numbered limited edition.

All prints come signed by me in pencil, on the bottom right of the printed image.

Lino and block printing is a form of printmaking referred to as relief printing. My process in creating a block print starts with an illustration.
I transfer the illustration to the carving block - rubber, lino, or vinyl.
The image is carved into the block using specialty carving tools.
The carving process is a detailed and time consuming process, and requires a high level of attention and patience.
The blocks are then inked with archival quality ink and printed on acid free archival quality printmaking paper.

Due to the nature of the handmade process, each print is unique and will have slight variations.

The paper is a thin lightweight specialty printmaking paper. Each sheet is hand torn to the required size.

Your print will have two hand torn edges and two machine cut edges.

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black Archival Pigment Ink
Paper: Ho-Sho Japanese Printmaking Paper (approx 90gsm)

Colour is added to the magpie's eye using a Faber-Castell Polychromos pencil.

Packaging: Your print will be packaged within a plastic sleeve with acid free backing board. The print will be shipped in a rigid mailer.
