This is an original hand carved and hand printed block print. Limited edition of 40 prints.

The Pink Robin is a small native Australian bird. This is a print of a male pink robin, the female pink robin looks quite different with a relatively bland olive/brown colouring compared to the bright pink of the male's breast.

Linocut and block printing is a form of printmaking referred to as relief printing.

My process in creating a print starts with an illustration. I then transfer the illustration to the block.

The image is carved into the block using specialty carving tools.

The carving process is a detailed and time consuming process, and requires a high level of attention and patience.

The blocks are then inked with archival quality ink and printed on acid free archival quality printmaking paper.

Due to the nature of the handmade process, each print is unique and will have slight variations.

This block is printed on handmade cotton paper, with deckled edges all around.

The handmade nature of the paper means that each piece of paper is different with random speckles here and there. So please keep in mind your print may vary slightly from the image shown.

Paper Size: 16cm (W) x 21cm (H) (approx)

Image Size: 9cm (W) x 8cm (H) (approx)

Ink: Cranfield Caligo Relief Ink. Pink hand coloured with Faber-Castell Polychromo pencil.

Paper: Handmade cotton paper 150gsm (approx).

Each print is signed and numbered in pencil on the front, under the printed image.

Packaging: Your print will be wrapped in a sheet of acid free tissue paper and packaged between two sheets of 600gsm backing board. The print will be shipped in a rigid mailer.
